Our Path to Here....
When we connected in 2007 neither of us had any idea how our work as therapists and personal journey's would grow into an 11 year friendship. We met at Mercy Behavioral Health, a community mental health agency in Pittsburgh, Pa. Kristy had just completed her internship for her MSW and was hired on part time as Gretchen was starting her internship to complete her MA in counseling. Gretchen quickly got the nickname "Kristy 6 months later" when she was then hired on part time after completing her internship.
We worked together at Mercy Behavioral health for 7 years before Kristy left, with another colleague, to open The Village Center for Holistic Therapy, a private practice in Pittsburgh, Pa. It wasn't long after the grand opening that Gretchen joined the practice and we were reunited once again. It seemed an unlikely pairing as so many things about us were different but maybe that has been the key to our friendship. We view therapy, humanity, and approaches to living life in the same way. Through our individual experiences it has allowed us to grow in our connection as friends through sharing and support of one another.
Outside of our professional work we share a love of board games, good food, girls nights, wine, and the band Incubus.
